Dan Wickes is a comedian from Long Island who writes sharp one-liners. A ten-year veteran of the New York comedy scene, Dan can be seen headlining breweries around the country and closing out Comedy Village in Hell’s Kitchen five nights a week. He’s the winner of the 2021 Coney Island Comedy Festival and was a featured performer at SXSW and Skankfest in 2023.

Dan is also a fixture of the roast battle world. He placed third at the Roast Battle League World Championships in 2025, and has kept the momentum going into 2026 with big wins at the Comedy Cellar and Comedy Mothership. He runs Roast Battle League NYC every Wednesday at Grove 34 in Astoria, curating diverse lineups of people saying horrible things to each other with real craft.

Where a lot of comics do stand-up to try to get laid, Dan arguably does the opposite: he talks openly about living with Tourette’s Syndrome. That’s given him a genuine fascination with the things we’re not supposed to say, and a real skill for turning something knee-jerk uncomfortable into something palatable- even funny. He’s frequently told after shows, “I really appreciate what you’re doing,” which, while not necessarily why he got into comedy, points to a real impact beyond the laughs.
