Becky Granger

Becky Granger (she/her) is a biracial, bilingual, bisexual Brooklyn-based actor, writer, and stand-up comic performing weekly across New York City. Fluent in Spanish, Granger writes darkly funny, psychologically sharp material that blends humor with real emotional intensity, giving her a distinctive, modern comedic voice both on stage and on the page.

On screen, Granger has co-starred on Peacock’s “Poker Face” (from director Ti West) and Netflix’s “When They See Us” (from Ava DuVernay). Her short film and web series work includes a supporting role in “Versace Softboi” which won the Audience Choice Award at the New York Short Film Festival and was selected for the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival and the New Faces New Voices Film Festival as well as lead and starring roles in “Hinge,” “I Digress” (Tribeca), “Flat Planet,” “Right Side Up,” and “Creative Use for a Straw,” among others. She earned a Best Actress nomination at the NYLI Film Festival for “Glass Bottle.”

Granger trained extensively in theatre, holding a BFA in Theatre Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University and studying Meisner technique at Terry Knickerbocker Studios, along with improv at UCB and the Coalition Theater, stand-up under Stephen Rosenfeld, and sketch and stand-up comedy under John Porter. Her stage credits include originating “Carrie” in “One in Four” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where Theatre Scotland gave the show four stars and singled out her performance as “fantastic,” noting how she “uses her ability to make an audience burst into laughter effectively… even breaking her cast mates in the process” as well as leading roles in “Frankenstein” (Mary Shelley) and “Macbeth” (Lady Macbeth) at Hodges Theater, and work at the Nuyorican Theater and The Hive Theater.

As a writer, Granger is currently producing her own short film, “Rachel Sings,” about a lonely babysitter who uses the boy she babysits to win an online singing competition successfully crowdfunded past its $35K goal and set to shoot in June 2026. The screenplay has been recognized as a quarterfinalist in the Outstanding Screenplays Shorts Competition and the SWN Short Film Screenplay Competition, named to Barnstorm Fest’s short list, and ranked in the top 11% of all short comedy projects on Coverfly. She’s also currently developing feature-length scripts and original comedy projects for film and TV, and makes comedic videos online in the meantime.
